CAIRO – 3 November 2019: Egyptian State Minister for Military Production Mohamed El-Assar discussed cooperation with Tai Nenglun, director general of the Middle East, North Africa and Europe regions at China Gezhouba Group Corporation (CGGC), a Chinese construction engineering company, the ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

Assar and Nenglun discussed joint cooperation in several fields, including the establishment of solar power plants and desalination facilities, and the manufacture of civil explosives.

Nenglun, for his part, said his company seeks strategic partnership with the Egyptian ministry through the transfer of technology, capacity-building, and the localization of industry and investment. He expressed his company's readiness to participate in projects to secure renewable energy resources, as well as infrastructure construction projects.

Assar on Saturday also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the National Authority for Military Production and the Swiss company "TCG" for cooperation in the field of converting waste to energy.

The signing ceremony was attended by Local Development Minister Mahmoud Sharawi and Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad.

It comes in light of the state's plan to develop the waste management system to contribute to improving the environmental, health and living conditions of the citizens and achieving an economic boost.

This memorandum aims to allow the establishment of factories to convert waste into energy so that the waste is processed to generate energy in any form.
