CAIRO - 31 October 2019: Finance Minister Mohamed Maait said Egypt, since its African Union presidency, attaches importance to enhancing inter-African economic merging and setting up strong economic partnership with advanced states in a bid to achieve overall development of the African continent.
Egypt seeks to upgrade the continent's manufacturing capabilities, develop infrastructure and lay down digital economy rules to be able to put into effect the AU 2063 Development Agenda, Maait said during his meeting with head of Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA) Leonard Ambassa.
Africa has all potentials that qualify it to positively merge into global economy and has become an important investment destination after the launching of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement, he said.
He said Egypt, for example, is taking ready steps on the road of digital transformation as it is one of economic growth stimulants.
