CAIRO, Oct 26 (MENA) - State Minister for Military Production Mohamed Saaed el Assar discussed on Friday with Director of the Belarusian Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark) company Vitaly Vovk boosting cooperation in manufacturing tractors.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed promoting cooperation with the Helwan Machinery Equipment (Factory 999), affiliated to the National Organization for Military Production (NOMP), in the field of the joint manufacturing of all kinds of tractors and transferring technology to the military production companies in Egypt.
Vovk also visited the headquarters of Factory 999 to get acquainted with its production lines. The two sides also agreed on importing 51 tractors from "Minsk Tractor Works" and studying the possibility of manufacturing them in Egypt.
Assar also asserted the military production companies's keenness on expanding the scope of cooperation with Belarusian companies, including Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ), Amkodor and Agromash.
For his part, Vovk said that he, in his capacity as the chairman of the Belarusian-Egyptian Joint Business Council, will invite Belarusian companies to participate in this project that aims at localizing the industry of tractors in Egypt and exporting them to African countries in the future.
