CAIRO – 13 June 2017: Board of directors of Telecom Egypt (TE) approved sealing two agreements with mobile service provider Etisalat Misr, said a company brief Tuesday.
Authorizing TE managing director Ahmed el-Beheiry to sign them, the two agreements allow national roaming and international voice services.
On May 25, TE announced it will sign a five-year agreement to provide 2G and 3G mobile services through Etisalat, highlighting that it will start offering mobile services in September.
Beheiry said at that time that Etisalat’s agreement came as they offered better price than competitor Orange Egypt.
To enter the mobile market, state-owned TE purchased in August the country’s first 4G license from the Egyptian government, for LE 7.08 billion ($390.5 million).
