Ahmed El Bassiouny appointed as CBE sub-governor for economic research

CAIRO - 27 August 2019: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) board of directors appointed Monday senior economist Ahmed El Bassiouny as Sub-Governor for the Economic Research Sector.

Bassiouny will succeed CBE Governor's Adviser for African Affairs and Supervisor of the Economic Research Sector Naglaa Nozahie.

He will continue to serve as Sub-Governor for the Monetary Policy Sector.

Bassiouny holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the Faculty of Management and Economics at the Bochum-Ruhr University in Bochum, Germany, where he also completed his post-graduate studies.
