CAIRO - 5 March 2019: Leading FMCG company in the region, Nestlé North East Africa has been awarded as “Industrial Growth Leader in FMCG” during bt100 awards ceremony for their unprecedented growth in 2018.
The company currently owns nine categories of food products in the Egyptian market and three factories to ensure sufficient supply to the Egyptian market and ongoing supply exports to neighbouring markets. In addition to the diversified portfolio, of the FMCG giant, the company employs today more than 3500 permanent employees, and providing more than 1500 indirect employment.
Over the past 5 years, Nestlé has invested more than LE1 billion in the fields of manufacturing, research and development distribution, and empowering employees’ skills. In 2017, Nestlé acquired Caravan Marketing Company SAE (“CMC”), a leading Egyptian instant coffee company and owner of the Bonjorno brand. In January 2019,Nestlé celebrated the opening of its new coffee factory, Bonjourno, in the 6th of October industrial zone, with investments of LE250 million.
After receiving the award, CEO and Chairman of Nestlé North East Africa, Moataz El Hout stated, “The award received is a solid affirmation for the entire Nestlé family and myself that we are on the right path. 2018 has been a successful year; we were able to achieve remarkable growth rates.” He added, “As a trusted company by our consumers, we do not only measure our success in terms of sales and market share, 2018 has marked more partnerships with public and private sectors to ensure creating real community shared values that are sustainably elevate quality of lives.”
Bt100 is an award ceremony held by Egypt’s leading economics magazine, Business Today. The award ceremony honoured and celebrated the accomplishments of the top 50 influential companies and top 50 influential figures positively affecting the Egyptian economy in 2018. The first-class event brought together a wide range of governmental figures and leading representatives from the corporate community to celebrate the success of selected businesses in 2018.
