CAIRO – 4 June 2017: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices rallied up in Sunday’s transactions on sales of Egyptian investors and Arab institutions.
The EGX’s main index, EGX30, inched up 0.21 percent, standing at 13,495 points, while the small and mid-cap enterprises index EGX70 rose significantly by 3.04 percent, registering 590.85 points.
Closing at 1,369 points, the all-embracing EGX100 hiked 2.03 percent.
Market capitalization gained LE 1.6 billion ($150 million), recording LE 680.217 billion, up from LE 678.62 billion on the last trading session on Thursday.
Over the last week, the EGX30 index surged 2.85 percent, registering 13,467 points. Meanwhile, the small and mid-cap enterprises EGX70 index rose 2.6 percent, standing at 573 points, while the EGX100 index increased 1.17 percent, totaling 1,369 points.
Market capitalization was also up 1.2 percent, reaching nearly LE 678.6 billion ($37.5 billion). Total turnover registered LE 6.7 billion, compared to LE 6.6 billion over the previous week.
