Mercedes to re-invest in Egypt, says official

CAIRO, Jan 20 (MENA) - Mercedes is returning to Egypt after the political leadership provided incentives to encourage international firms to invest in the country.

It is a great opportunity that should be perfectly used, said Samir Allam of the Chamber of Engineering Industries (CEI) in statements to MENA Sunday.

The return of Mercedes will sure revive the whole industrial market in Egypt, especially where auto feeding and complementary industries are concerned, Allam said.

Mercedes is not the only company to make the return decision, he said, noting that other firms had made a prior comeback.

This, he believes, reflects how strong the Egyptian national economy is.
