EGX flags in green during week’s 1st session

CAIRO – 13 January 2019: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Sunday’s session in green for the second session in row, and market capitalization during the session added LE 4.78 billion.

The benchmark EGX30 rose 1.18 percent, or 158.39 points, to close at 13,525.83 points.

The equally weighted index EGX50 increased 0.61 percent, or 13.39 points, to reach 2,221 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 went up 0.14 percent, or 0.94 points, reaching 688.24 points, and the broader index EGX100 inched up 0.30 percent, or 5.25 points, to close at 1,729.33 points.

Market capitalization gained LE 4.78 billion, recording LE 769.95 billion, compared to LE 765.16 billion in Thursday’s session.

The trading volume reached 187.23 million shares, traded through 25,761 transactions, with a turnover of LE 789.28 million.

Egyptian investors were net buyers at LE 47.53 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 14.04 million and LE 33.49 million, respectively.

Arab individuals were net sellers at LE 2.76 billion, while Egyptian and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 26.6 million, and LE 3.46 million, respectively.

Arab and foreign organizations sold at LE 11.27 and LE 36.96 million, respectively, while Egyptian organizations bought LE 20.91 million.

North Africa Co. for Real Estate Investment, Cairo Educational Services, and Arab Valves Company were top gainers of the session by 9.99 percent, 6.26 percent and 5.89 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, Rowad Tourism (Al Rowad), Global Telecom Holding, and Asek Company for Mining – Ascom were top losers of the session by 7.22 percent, 4.88 percent, and 3.44 percent, respectively.

EGX ended Thursday’s session in green, as EGX30 rose 0.01 percent, EGX50 increased 0.03 percent, and EGX70 inched up 0.03 percent, while EGX100 went up 0.01 percent.
