CAIRO – 01 June 2017: The U.S. dollar exchange recorded an average of LE 18.03 for buying and LE 18.13 for selling against the Egyptian pound in Thursday banking transactions.
Registering the highest exchange rate for the day, the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), Credit Agricole bank and EG Bank marked a rate of LE 18.07 for buying and LE 18.17 for selling.
Majority of the banks such as the Commercial International Bank (CIB), Bank Audi and Ahli Bank of Kuwait followed at LE 18.05 for buying and LE 18.15 for selling.
The three state-owned banks the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), Banque Misr and Banque du Caire stood at an exchange rate of LE 17.95 for buying and LE 18.05.
The euro exchange rate recorded an average of LE 20.21 for buying and LE 20.32 for selling.
As for the British Pound (GBP) it marked an average of LE 23.16 for buying and LE 23.29 for selling.
The Arab currencies have remained stable against the Egyptian pound. The Saudi riyal marked LE 4.80 for buying and LE 4.83 for selling, while the Kuwaiti dinar registered LE 59.33 for buying and LE 59.75 for selling.
