CAIRO – 2 September 2018: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) market capitalization gained LE 8.1 billion during August, recording LE 881.713 billion, with an increase of 0.93 percent compared to July, according to EGX monthly stock report.
The report showed that the trading volume reached 3.740 billion shares during August, traded through 375,000 transactions, with a turnover of LE 19.6 million.
As per indices, the benchmark EGX30 rose 2.75 percent, to close at 16,009.41 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 hiked 0.38 percent, reaching 747.38 points, and the broader index EGX100 inched up 0.33 percent, closing at 1,936.41 points.
It revealed that the Financial Services sector ranked the most traded sector on EGX in terms of volume traded during August, reaching 1.218 billion shares worth LE 3.028 billion.

The real estate sector came second with a volume of 734.6 million shares worth LE 2.402 billion and the telecommunications sector ranked third, with a volume of 641.3 million shares worth LE 1.150 billion, the report read.
Regarding Stocks, Arabia Investment, Development, Fin. Inv. Holding Company topped the list of the most 10 active companies in terms of volume traded on EGX during August, with a volume of 518.8 million shares and a turnover of LE 531.1 million, followed by Orascom Investment Holding with a volume of 475.5 million shares and a turnover of LE 326.7 million.
Citadel Capital came in third with a volume of 376.9 million shares and a trading value of LE 1313.6 million, followed by Porto Holding Group with a volume of 276.1 million shares valued at LE 61 million and Amer Holding Group with a volume of 228.6 million, and the value of trading LE 56 million, according to the monthly stock market report.

The report said that the Egyptian investors allocated 77.04 percent of the value traded during the month; Non-Arab foreign investors assigned 16.24 percent, while Arab investors captured 6.72 percent, after excluding deals.
Non-Arab foreign investors were net sellers at LE 281.08 million, while Arab investors were net buyers at LE 672.31 million, after excluding deals.
EGX ended the last session of August in green for the third session in row as the benchmark exceeded the levels of 16,000 points, and market capitalization gained LE 5.8 billion during the session.
