CAIRO - 18 July 2018: Head of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Mona Zobaa discussed on Wednesday with a delegation of 70 Egyptian and Lebanese businessmen various aspects of cooperation between Egypt and Lebanon especially in the investment domains and economic reforms adopted by Egypt recently.
The delegation was accompanied by members of the Egyptian Lebanese Businessmen Friendship Association under Fathallah Fawzy.
Zobaa praised the eagerness of the Lebanese businessmen to visit GAFI to know more about the investment atmosphere in Egypt, highlighting the continued coordination between the businesspeople in the two countries in the service of development.
She pointed out to the government's keenness to offer the best service for investors in the light of efforts to lure more Arab and foreign investments to the Egyptian market.
Zobaa hailed the support of the Lebanese diplomatic mission in Cairo under Ambassador Ali al Halaby for boosting Egyptian-Lebanese relations.
She pointed out that the Egyptian government is exerting tremendous efforts to eliminate obstacles hindering the work of investors in Egypt.
Fawzy for his part, said the association which has been working in Egypt for 26 years is keen on increasing Lebanese investments in Egypt, estimated now at 5 billion dollars, revealing plans to organize a forum of the Egyptian-Lebanese businessmen on September 28 to lure more Lebanese investments into Egypt.
The Lebanese ambassador in Cairo praised Egyptian-Lebanese relations, saying his country was looking forward to boosting joint investments and strengthening economic ties.
