Parliament passes 5 presidential decrees

CAIRO - 25 June 2018: The House of Representatives on Sunday approved presidential decrees on five loan agreements.

A KD 17.5 million agreement with the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) to support projects in Sinai was approved.

The parliament also okayed a KD 60 million agreement with KFAED to finance the tunnel-Sharm El-Sheikh road within the Sinai Peninsula Development Program.

Another agreement with the African Development Bank on the Economic Governance and Energy Support Program III was passed.

The lawmakers also agreed on an agreement with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) on the implementation of Agenda 2030 on water efficiency, productivity and sustainability.

The House of Representatives also approved a KFAED Letter of Understanding worth KD 100,000 to finance feasibility studies of palm cultivation and date processing in Egypt.
