Over LE 20B in subsidy for Takaful and Karama program: Minister

CAIRO - 20 June 2018: Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Wali said Wednesday her ministry started a plan in 2014, in parallel with the country's economic program, with the aim of protecting pensioners and raising the minimum pension to LE 750 in 2018 with a cost exceeding LE 24 billion.

In a press conference at the cabinet headquarters, the minister said Takaful and Karama program covered 5.4 million families where subsidy to the program hit over LE 20 billion in four years.

The minister pointed out to loans to small projects at a cost of LE 350 million along with another program to develop 6,000 kindergartens.
