CAIRO - 6 June 2018: Transport Minister Hisham Arafat said the ministry has selected conglomerates qualified for establishing the first dry port in Egypt in the Sixth of October City.
Examining the documents of all companies, the ministry chose the most qualified companies, he said in a statement on Wednesday.
The project falls within the framework of the ministry's plan to establish a comprehensive logistic mechanism for serving national and international trade.
Chairman of the General Authority For Ports and Dry Land Fouad Othman said setting up the 100-feddan dry port will be followed by putting to tender the establishment of a 300-feddan logistic center.
The projects will serve international trade, boost the Egyptian harbors capacity and curb unemployment
