CAIRO – 12 May 2017: Nine natural gas projects will begin production by the end of 2019, while 21 others have been accomplished in the past few years, Minister of Petroleum Tarek El-Molla said Thursday.
In a meeting with members of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on a visit to Egypt, Molla lauded the achievements made in the natural gas sector over the past three years, saying 11 new projects are set to begin in the coming years.
Molla also underscored that the first phase of North Alexandria gas field project began production last Wednesday, contributing to Egypt’s goal of self-sufficiency in natural gas by the end of 2018.
