Egypt Manufactures to promote national industry: FEI

CAIRO – 9 May 2017: A new initiative named Egypt Manufactures was launched on Monday by the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI).

FEI held a press conference today to announce the inauguration of the new initiative.

Chairman of FEI, Mohamed el-Swedy said that there is a plan to promote Egyptian products by setting up exhibitions nationwide, with wares at affordable prices, to make people aware of the national products.

He added that the first show will be organized during Ramadan (Islamic Holy Month). In addition there will be similar exhibitions during various occasions such as, the back to school season, the Muslims two major annual celebrations (Eid Al-Adha and Eid Al-Fitr) and fairs selling marriage supplies.

The initiative includes helping manufacturers in developing their projects by benefiting from funds available via banks and other granting institutions, El- Swedy said.

He added that flotation contributed in increasing local production in different domains.

El-Swedey revealed that FEI will participate in the Bahrain Show which is going to start next week under the auspices of the Prime Minister, Sherif Ismail, whose aim is to enhance bilateral trade.

Most participants come from the crafts, tourism, and aviation sector.
