Cairo to host 1st session of Egyptian-UAE joint economic committee

CAIRO - 15 March 2018: Cairo will host on Saturday meetings of the first session of the Egyptian-UAE joint economic committee to be co-chaired by Egypt's Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Kabil and UAE Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed al Mansoori, with a large number of senior officials attending.

In a statement on Thursday, the trade minister said that holding the Egyptian-UAE committee stems from both countries' keenness on fostering bilateral trade and economic cooperation relations, a move that is expected to bring about a qualitative leap on the commercial and investment levels.

Kabil pointed out that the joint committee is expected to tackle a number of files pertaining to promoting cooperation in the phases of industry, agriculture, customs and investments.

The Egyptian trade ministry will organize an Egyptian-UAE business forum, on the sidelines of the committee, in cooperation with the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, with a large number of companies form both countries taking part in it with the aim of boosting partnership between private sectors in both countries.

Several memorandums of understanding are expected to be inked during the meetings of the joint committee.
