CAIRO – 11 March 2018: Yields on Egypt’s 91-day and 266-day treasury bills at Sunday’s auction, increased to record LE 16.99 billion, according to the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).

The average yields on 91-day bills recorded LE 8.75 billion representing 17.88 percent.

While the average yields on 266-day bills reached 16.94 percent, with an outcome of LE 8.25 billion.

CBE, on behalf of the Ministry of Finance, issued LE 15.5 billion in treasury bills on Sunday.

T-bills are usually issued every Sunday and Thursday.

For the current fiscal year, the budget deficit is estimated to record LE 370 billion, planned by the ministry to be financed through treasury bills and bonds and through international and Arab loans.
