CAIRO – 16 April 2017: Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr managed to resolve around 100 investment disputes during March, after she chaired the technical secretariat for settling investment disputes, a source at the ministry told Egypt Today.
He said that since Nasr was appointed as the investment minister, she has put up a work plan to quickly resolve investment disputes, in light of the ministry's plan to boost investments in Egypt.
The source further noted that the minister has directed the disputes committee to convene twice a month instead of once in order to swiftly settle all the disputes, in coordination with the Ministry of Justice.
Moreover, Nasr gave orders to launch a website for the committee to help investors follow up on the status of their disputes, the source said, adding that a hotline is also available for further contact with investors.
The aim of the committee is to encourage investors to present their disputes before the committee, instead of international courts.
