NUCA completes construction of planned projects in 2017- 2018

CAIRO – 2 January 2018: Head of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) Abdel Motelb Mamdouh confirmed on Tuesday that planned projects in new cities have been 100 percent implemented during the current fiscal year,anticipating the completion of water and rural sanitation networks in the new cities within the next few days.

Mamdouh has stated that approximately 50 percent of the government-owned residential project Sakan Misr has been completed, and developers have been offered new tenders to construct infrastructure projects within Sakan Misr and other newly formed cities across governorates, according to a released statement by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Communities.

More than 62,000 terms of reference of residential units under the Ministry of Housing’s SakanMisr project were sold in two weeks last August, according to deputy head of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA),Tarek al-Sebaey.

Five days after issuing the terms of reference on August 15, more than 23,000 terms of reference were sold.

The new unsubsidized houses are offered in six cities, namely New Cairo, 6th of October City, Obour City, Badr City, New Damietta City and New Minya.

Offering 40,000 residential units, the new project is part of the ministry’s special housing portfolio, which contains units ranging in area from 100 to 110 square meters. The project will be surrounded by greenery and will include commercial services and private gardens for ground floor units.
