CAIRO - 26 December 2017: "Fourteen companies are seeking to be listed in the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) in 2018, where eight companies are submitting requests," chairman of the EGX Mohamed Farid stated in a Tuesday press conference.
Farid explained that five-six companies have requested information about listing, adding that he is expecting a surge in that regard as three companies were listed in 2017.
"Foreign companies and funds requested from the EGX to increase the number of listed companies to increase market attractiveness," he said.
The 2017 annual report of the EGX showed that the average trading value was LE 800 million, up from LE 740 million in 2016, to record the highest rate since the 2008 Economic Recession.
