CAIRO – 6 November 2017: The Middle East’s leading investment bank, EFG Hermes, kicked off Monday its seventh annual EFG Hermes London Conference with the attendance of investors of more than $9 trillion in assets under management, the company said in a statement.
A number of 290 investors working in 10 industries spanning 20 countries, as well as fund managers gathered to exchange market insights.
“This year’s conference boasts an expanded roster of represented countries, including 20 of the most compelling frontier emerging markets… The inclusion of companies from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Georgia, Turkey, Uganda and Vietnam is driven by the firm’s strategy to provide investors access to new markets outside of MENA,” said EFG Hermes CEO Karim Awad.
Keynote speakers of the conference include chairman of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) Mohamed Farid as the sessions address the outlook on initial public offerings (IPOs) and the impact of current oil prices on regional markets and regulatory changes and infrastructural upgrades in each exchange.
“Egypt has been lauded by the IMF for the successful execution of a major economic reform program, and the Egyptian exchange has recorded unprecedented levels well ahead of state-planned IPOs that will further reinvigorate the market,” said Mohamed Ebeid, Co-CEO of EFG Hermes.
