CAIRO - 7 October 2017: Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr said on Saturday that her ministry will finish development works of the investor services center “within days”.
She said that some windows will be designed for women and Egyptian expatriates.
The investor services center aims to ease hardships faced by investors in Egypt, in a bid to attract much-needed investment to the country.
Egypt has recently passed a new investment law, whose executive regulations will be issued soon.
Nasr added that efforts are underway in the government to increase women’s share of the financial support, dedicated to development projects, to 50 percent from 10 percent.
The minister’s comments came during her participation in a two-day forum on women empowerment, organized by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
Nasr further said that efforts are being exerted to promote gender equality in respect to micro projects.
The opening ceremony of the two-day forum was held in Cairo Saturday, in which the OECD will present the findings of a report it prepared on women empowerment in the Middle East and to discuss solutions to achieve gender equality.
