CAIRO – 7 September 2017: Minister of Investment Sahar Nasr invited Vietnamese investors to participate in the New Administrative Capital projects, according to a Thursday statement.

Nasr’s statements came during her speech during the Egyptian-Vietnamese Business Forum, which was organized by the Egyptian Federation of Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC) and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce, and attended by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.

The minister invited Vietnamese businessmen to invest in the Suez Canal Development Axis, fish farming project and building ports and economic zones.

“Egypt is a gate to Arab and African markets and has the ability to reach major markets in the U.S. and the Middle East,” Nasr added.

Sisi is the first Egyptian president to visit Vietnam since the establishment of the Cairo-Hanoi diplomatic ties.

The forum aims to explore ways of boosting bilateral economic and trade cooperation and explore available investment opportunities in Egypt.

Sisi started his visit Wednesday where he met with his Vietnamese counterpart President Trần Đại Quang.

Egypt and Vietnam signed Wednesday memoranda of understanding (MoUs) in the fields of maritime trade, manufacturing, boosting investment, fish farming and the establishment of ports and economic zones.
