CAIRO – 21 August 2017: The second phase units of Dar Misr project for middle-income housing are expected to be delivered before the end of this year, Head of the Development Authority at Sheikh Zayed said Monday.

The Head of the Development Authority Gamal Talaat added to Egypt Today that 90 percent of the phase work is finished and implementation of facilities, water and gas networks has started.

The Authority Head noted that the excavation works for 21 buildings, equivalent to 504 housing units, in the third phase of the project have been finished.

Minister of Housing and Urban Communities Mostafa Madbouly has announced earlier that approximately 6,000 housing units are being built in the

Dar Misr

project for middle-income citizens in Obour City.


The project will feature three phases, including 2,136 units in the first phase, 3,024 units in the second phase and 816 units in the third phase.

Moreover, Talaat added that the Madbouly is urging on the rapid start of the expansions in Sheikh Zayed City, noting that the schedule of the first phase of the expansions would not take more than two years and will include

middle-income

and luxurious housing projects.

The Housing Ministry has sought the best global consultancy offices to put the general outline for the city’s expansions and has allocated LE 6 billion ($3.38 billion) for the expansions, especially for the housing and the services’ projects.
