Investment Minister discusses development of Qaliubiya

CAIRO – 9 August 2017: Qaliubiya needs upgrading bridges, archaeological buildings and irrigation networks to be ready for investments, Governor Mahmoud Ashmawy said Wednesday.

In a meeting with Minister of Investment Sahar Nasr, Ashmawy reviewed his plan to develop Qanatr Barrages to attract tourists.

“The plan includes a number of tourist projects, primarily hotels and gardens,” Ashmawy said in a statement by the Ministry.

In a previous meeting, Ashmawy said the project also includes establishing lakes and an amusement park, in addition to introducing new means of transportation.

Ashmawy said these projects atr near the new Benha-Shoubra al-Kheima road, and that he had agreed with Nasr to conduct feasibility studies of these projects.
