CAIRO – 8 August 2017: Long Live Egypt Fund will start working on LE 320 million development plan for Aswan, Minister of Investment Sahar Nasr announced Tuesday.

In a meeting with the executive committee of the fund, Nasr said that the projects will focus on housing, water and sanitation sectors.

“We will start with Nasr El-Nuba region, for which we allocated LE 170 million,” Nasr said.

During the National Youth Conference that took place in Aswan in January, President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi called for finishing development projects in Aswan by the end of June 2018.

The Long Live Egypt Fund (Tahya Masr) was initially established by President Sisi in 2014 to elicit donations in support of Egypt's development projects and its economy.

A value of LE 200 million from the fund is already assigned to the development of the most in-need villages across 14 governorates, Nasr said in a previous statement.
