CAIRO – 7 August 2017: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) saw a mixed performance at the end of Monday’s session. Arab and local investors were net sellers with a total of LE 18.8 million and LE 49 million, respectively.
The benchmark index EGX 30 added 0.75 percent to close at 13,660.8 points.
The small and mid-cap index EGX70 shed 0.05 percent to end at 714.5 points. The broader index EGX100 kept last session’s level at 1,612 points.
Market capital slightly went down to LE 715.13 billion compared to LE 715.8 billion on Sunday.
Arab and local investors were net sellers with a total of LE 18.8 million and LE 49 million, respectively, while foreign traders purchased by LE 68 million.
Total turnover gained LE 231.7 million to LE 900.7 million, up from LE 669 million achieved on Sunday, while trade volume registered 261.7 million shares, compared to 223.5 million shares last session.
El Arabia Engineering Industries topped gainers and surged 10 percent, while Misr Oils and Soap led the worst performers and dropped 8.18 percent.
