CAIRO – 3 August 2017: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) saw positive performance at Thursday end. Total turnover reached LE 883 million ($49 million), backed by the foreign and local sales.
The benchmark index EGX30 went up 0.06 percent to close at 13,413 points.
The small and mid-cap index EGX70 inched up 0.08 percent to end at 711 points. The broader index EGX100 also increased 0.17 percent to stand at 1,606.6 points.
Market capital gained LE 2.9 billion ($162.9 million), totaling LE 711.7 billion compared to LE 708.8 billion on Wednesday.
Foreign and local investors were net sellers with a total of LE 4.7 million and LE 24.6 million, respectively, while Arab traders purchased by LE 29 million.
Total turnover reached LE 883 million, while trade volume registered 214.6 million shares.
Egypt Aluminum topped gainers and surged 10.98 percent, while Suez Bags Company led the worst performers and dropped 8.7 percent.
