CAPMAS: Egyptian exports to France rise by 4.6% in 2025

CAIRO - 9 May 2026: Data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) on Saturday showed that the value of Egyptian exports to France rose reaching $1.14 billion in 2025, compared to $1.09 billion in 2024, representing a 4.6% increase.

 

Meanwhile, the value of Egyptian imports from France reached $1.82 billion in 2025, compared to $1.85 billion in 2024, reflecting a 1.6% decrease.

 

CAPMAS data also revealed that the total value of trade between Egypt and France reached $2.96 billion in 2025, compared to $2.94 billion in 2024, representing a 1% increase.

 

 

Main commodity groups exported by Egypt to France in 2025:

 

1. Fertilizers: $313 million

 

2. Electrical Machinery and Equipment: $260 million

 

3. Vegetables and fruits worth $88.4 million.

 

4. Organic and inorganic chemical products worth $81.4 million.

 

5. Ready-made clothing worth $70 million.

 

 

Major commodity groups imported by Egypt from France during 2025:

 

 

1. Pharmaceutical products worth $290 million.

 

2. Electrical machinery and equipment worth $260 million.

 

3. Cars, tractors, motorcycles, and their parts worth $207 million.

 

4. Cereals worth $152 million.

 

5. Dairy products, eggs, and honey worth $71.4 million.

 

 

Investment Value

 

French investments in Egypt reached $767.1 million during the 2024/2025 fiscal year, compared to $483.8 million during the 2023/2024 fiscal year, representing an increase of 58.6%.

 

Meanwhile, Egyptian investments in France amounted to $398.1 million during the 2024/2025 fiscal year, compared to $238.3 million during the 2023/2024 fiscal year, reflecting an increase of 67.1%.

 

Remittances from Egyptians working in France reached $99.7 million during the 2024/2025 fiscal year, compared to $71.1 million during the 2023/2024 fiscal year, representing an increase of 40.2%.

 

Meanwhile, remittances from French workers in Egypt reached $17.7 million during the 2024/2025 fiscal year, compared to $14.1 million during the 2023/2024 fiscal year, representing an increase of 25.5%.

 

The population of Egypt was recorded at 109 million in May 2026, while the population of France was recorded at 66.7 million during the same period.

 

The number of Egyptians residing in France, according to the embassy's estimates, reached 580,000 by the end of 2024.
