CAIRO – 29 July 2017: Subscribers of communication and internet services in Egypt increased to 140 million until March 2017, compared to 130.6 million until March 2016, figures from the state-run statistics agency CAPMAS showed on Saturday.
The number includes subscribers of fixed-line, mobile phone and internet services.
In its July statistical bulletin, CAPMAS said that the number of mobile subscribers reached 99.9 million until March 2017, compared to 95.3 million until March last year. Meanwhile, fixed-line subscribes increased to 6.3 million until March 2017, versus 5.9 million until March 2016.
As for mobile internet subscribers, they rose to 30.5 million until March 2017, from 25.9 million until March last year, while subscribers of the internet through USB modems declined to 3.3 million, from 3.5 million during the same period.
