CAIRO – 17 February 2025: Chinese electronics giant Hisense, in collaboration with UAE-based FBB Tech, has officially laid the foundation stone for a new display production facility within the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone).

Spanning 110,000 square meters, the project is designed to produce 2.5 million units annually. The first phase, set to begin with an initial investment of $38 million, is part of a broader $100 million investment plan.

With a focus on global exports, the facility aims to supply products to over 100 countries.

The foundation stone laying ceremony was attended by Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of SCZone, along with senior officials from the authority.

Amir Al-Hourani, Executive Vice President of Hisense for the Middle East and North Africa, revealed that construction is expected to conclude by the end of 2025, followed by trial production.

He further emphasized that over 70 percent of the factory’s output will be exported, targeting African nations, the Gulf region, and European markets.

The project leverages Egypt’s strategic geographic position and its extensive trade agreements, reinforcing the country’s role as a key hub for international trade and manufacturing.
