Sunday stock market trading closes in the green amid Egyptian purchasing

Cairo – January 26, 2025: The Egyptian Exchanged (EGX) closed Sunday trading on a positive note, adding around LE 7.6 billion to the market cap.

Benchmark index was up during the Sunday session by 0.12 percent to reach 30,034.85 points, with the Shariah index jumping by 0.47 percent to 3,196.92 points.

EGX 70 also increased by 0.12 percent to hit 8,526.88 points, followed by EGX 100 inching upwards by 0.09 percent to end the session with 11,676.48 percent.

Sunday trading saw 1.918 billion shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 3.525 billion.

Market capitalization was reported at LE 2.2512 trillion, up from last week’s close of LE 2.2436 trillion.

Trading on securities saw Egyptian investors as net buyers with LE 64.58 million. Arab and foreign traders were net sellers with LE 45.27 million and LE 19.31 million, respectively.

The top gains of the session were by Alexandria Mineral Oils Company which climbed by 7.4 percent during the first trading day of the week, followed by Sinai Cement by 6.03 percent, and Cairo Poultry by 5.78 percent.

The largest losses of the session were by Cairo Pharmaceuticals which saw a decline of 5.52 percent, Obour Land For Food Industries by 4.08 percent, and El Nasr For Manufacturing Agricultural Crops by 3.7 percent.
