CAIRO - 25 January 2025: According to recent data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), the trade exchange between Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman amounted to $858 million in 2024, down from $908 million in 2023.
Egyptian exports to Oman rose slightly to $194 million in 2024, compared to $190 million the previous year. Meanwhile, imports from Oman decreased to $664 million in 2024, compared to $718 million in 2023.
Among the key exports from Egypt to Oman in 2024 were vegetables and fruits worth $62 million, optical and cinematic devices valued at $24 million, various food preparations at $19 million, and electrical machines and appliances at $14 million.
On the import side, Egypt received metal ores worth $356 million, fish, crustaceans, and mollusks at $82 million, plastics and their products at $75 million, iron and steel products at $56 million, and aluminum products valued at $22 million.
Notably, Omani investments in Egypt saw significant growth, reaching $12.7 million in FY2023/2024, compared to $4.1 million in FY2022/2023.
