CAIRO - 23 January 2025: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has announced the establishment of specialized advisory committees to enhance collaboration between the government and experts from the private sector.
This initiative aligns with the government’s strategy to create permanent channels for exchanging perspectives and proposals, enabling more effective policy-making and addressing critical sectoral challenges.
The decision outlines the creation of six advisory committees, each dedicated to a specific sector. These committees are tasked with providing recommendations to support government reform efforts and amplifying the role of the private sector in shaping public policies.
Their responsibilities include submitting regular reports to the Prime Minister, detailing sector-specific challenges and proposing practical solutions.
Additionally, the committees will offer expert evaluations of government strategies, policies, and programs, assess their impact, and propose mechanisms to enhance international competitiveness.
Each committee will convene at least once a month, or as needed, under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, with relevant ministers and officials in attendance.
These meetings aim to address pressing challenges, propose actionable policies, and ensure continuous innovation to achieve sustainable development.
The committees may also be assigned additional tasks by the Prime Minister, ensuring their contributions remain aligned with national priorities.
The advisory groups consist of private sector leaders, industry experts, and specialists, ensuring a wide range of perspectives tailored to each sector’s unique needs.
By incorporating diverse expertise, the government seeks to address challenges efficiently while fostering innovative strategies for long-term growth and sustainability.
Notable committee formations include the Macroeconomics Committee, which features prominent figures like Hussein Mohamed Issa, Khaled Ibrahim Saqr, and Medhat Mohamed Nafea.
The Export Development Committee includes key members such as Omar Abdelaziz Mehanna, Ahmed Ezz, and Hani Barzi.
Similarly, the Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Committee is represented by professionals like Mohammed Azab, Amal Anan, and Helmy Ghazi.
Other committees focus on Tourism Development, with members like Hisham Talaat Moustafa and Kamel Abu Ali, as well as Political Affairs, featuring Aladdin Hilal and Abdelmonem Said.
The Urban Development and Real Estate Export Committee includes prominent figures such as Mahmoud El-Gammal, Naguib Sawiris, and Yasseen Mansour.
By integrating the insights of these advisory committees, the government aims to strengthen its reform agenda, enhance sectoral growth, and improve Egypt’s global competitiveness.
