Egypt's potato exports rise to $409 million in 10 months of 2024

CAIRO - 23 January 2025: Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) showed the development of Egyptian potato exports during the year ending in 2024.
 
The agency's data indicated that the total value of Egyptian potato exports amounted to about $409 million and 129 thousand during the first 10 months of 2024, up from $391 million and 394 thousand in the same period of 2023, an increase of about $17 million and 735 thousand.
 
Egyptian potato exports are among the most important Egyptian exports of raw materials, with a total value of about $4 billion and 167 million during the first 10 months of 2024, compared to about $3 billion and 732 million during the same period of 2023, an increase of about $434 million and 955 thousand.
 
Egypt's national exports achieved a large surplus in the recent period, according to data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, as it exceeded the $4 billion mark last October.
 
The agency's data indicated that Egypt's total national exports amounted to about 4 billion and 67 million dollars last October, while they were about 3 billion and 353 million dollars in the corresponding October of the previous year 2023, an increase of 714 million and 698 thousand dollars.
