Geely Assembly Plant Opens in Egypt with 45% locally manufactured

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly attended the inauguration ceremony of the Geely car assembly plant, organized by Auto Mobility in 6th of October City.
 
With locally manufactured components making up 45 percent of the newly launched assembly lines, the facility houses two production lines capable of producing up to 10,000 Geely vehicles annually, according to Fahd Ali Al-Ghanim, Chairman of Auto Mobility Company.
 
Auto Mobility has invested $100 million into the manufacturing and assembly operations, marking a significant milestone in Egypt’s automotive industry.
 
Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Madbouly emphasized that this inauguration at the Bavarian Auto Manufacturing Company’s factory is a pivotal step toward advancing Egypt’s industrial sector.
 
He highlighted the strategic importance of the automotive industry, which plays a critical role in the global economy.
 
 Madbouly also expressed pride in the fact that this investment is Geely Group’s first industrial venture in both Africa and the Middle East.
 
He noted that this milestone underscores the confidence of foreign investors in Egypt's robust investment climate and the economy’s ability to navigate challenges successfully.
 
During the event, Song Jim, Vice President of Geely Auto Holding Group, announced plans to export 30,000 vehicles in the near future, further cementing Egypt’s role as a regional hub for automotive manufacturing.
