Cairo – December 22, 2024: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) started the last complete week of trading in 2024 with a varied performance.
Benchmark index EGX 30 fell by 0.5 percent during the session to reach 30,372.7 points. The Shariah index dropped by 0.33 percent to 3,123.77 points.
EGX 70 was in the green, jumping by 0.5 percent to hit 8,452.57 points, followed by EGX 100 with a climb of 0.23 percent to 11,558.99 points.
Sunday trading reported 1.268 billion shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 2.4 billion.
Market capitalization was recorded at LE 2.223 trillion.
Trading on securities saw Egyptian and foreign investors as net buyers with LE 35.45 million and LE 10.31 million, respectively. Arab investors were net sellers with LE 45.76 million.
The top gains of the session were by South Cairo & Giza Mills & Bakeries which climbed during trading by 15.49 percent, Golden Textiles & Clothes Wool by 11.4 percent, and Orascom Financial Holding by 10.51 percent.
