CAIRO - 22 December 2024: The Ministry of Industry is planning a state-of-the-art industrial complex in the South Raswa Industrial Zone Extension in Port Said, covering 73.3 acres and housing 450 ready-to-operate factories, according to an official statement.

The complex is designed to bolster small-scale industries in textiles, ready-made garments, engineering, food production, and chemicals. Factory units will range from 250 to 500 square meters, with the flexibility to combine spaces for larger operations.

Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, Kamel Al-Wazir, has instructed the ministry to obtain approvals from the Ministry of Environment and the General Directorate of Civil Protection to ensure compliance with construction standards.

The plans include additional facilities such as warehouses, service zones, retail outlets, workshops, and exhibition areas to support the complex and nearby industrial zones.

During a meeting with Port Said investors, Minister Al-Wazir addressed the challenges facing industrialists in the region and discussed actionable solutions.

The session also explored measures to tackle obstacles in various industrial zones across the governorate.

The minister highlighted ongoing efforts to transfer the administration of all new industrial lands to the General Authority for Industrial Development (GAID).

As the exclusive body responsible for allocating industrial lands, GAID will manage the execution of the state’s strategic industrial agenda.

Al-Wazir stressed the importance of developing integrated supply chains and value-added processes to strengthen Port Said’s renowned textile industry.

He underlined the need for a comprehensive production cycle—from yarn and fabric manufacturing to dyeing and garment production—to establish a robust local industry.
