CAIRO - 16 December 2024: Egyptian petroleum product exports saw a significant surge in the first nine months of 2024, totaling $2.417 billion, compared to $1.638 billion during the same period in 2023, according to data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
This represents an increase of $779.064 million.
This rise in petroleum product exports coincides with a decline in crude oil exports over the same period. Crude oil exports amounted to $866.78 million during the first nine months of 2024, compared to $1.861 billion during the same period in 2023, marking a decrease of $994.412 million.
In September 2024, Egypt’s net exports recorded a notable increase, reaching approximately $3.46 billion compared to $3.14 billion in September 2023, reflecting a 10.2% growth. This was driven by higher exports of several key products, particularly petroleum products, which rose to $323 million in September 2024 from $131 million in September 2023, a substantial increase of 146.5%.
Additionally, Egypt’s ready-made garment exports also saw notable growth, rising to $244 million in September 2024, up from $189 million in the same month in 2023, marking an increase of 28.7%.
