CAIRO – 15 December 2024: Chairwoman of the Egyptian Federation for Funding Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises Mona Zulfacar stated Sunday that the size of microfinance in Egypt amounted to LE 95.5 billion in the third quarter of 2024 up from LE93 billion in the second quarter.
The total number of customers reached 4.5 million. The breakdown is that 1.8 million got the service from licensed associations and NGOs with a total funding worth LE20.8 billion, 1.9 million from microfinance firms with a funding worth LE 38.8 billion, and, 744,000 from banks that financed micro enterprises with LE 36 billion, as they make available funds worth up to 242,000 per enterprise.
