CAIRO – 11 December 2024: The latest report from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) highlights an increase in trade exchange between Egypt and Ireland, reaching $448 million during the first ten months of 2024, up from $428 million in the same period of 2023.
Egyptian exports to Ireland witnessed significant growth, rising to $121 million in 2024 compared to $82 million in 2023. Key exports included fertilizers worth $35 million, electrical machinery and equipment at $32 million, iron and steel at $8 million, paper and paper products at $8 million, and vegetables and fruits at $11 million.
Conversely, imports from Ireland to Egypt declined slightly, amounting to $327 million in 2024, down from $346 million in 2023.
The primary imports consisted of pharmaceuticals valued at $116 million, processed food items at $102 million, optical and cinematographic equipment at $27 million, electrical and mechanical machinery and parts at $21 million, and dairy products at $18 million.
The report also shed light on investment dynamics, noting that Irish investments in Egypt stood at $130 million during the 2022/2023 fiscal year, a decline from $199 million in the previous fiscal year. These figures emphasize the evolving economic relationship and trade potential between the two nations.
