CAIRO – 10 December 2024: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) wrapped up Tuesday's trading session in negative territory, with all major indexes posting losses.
The market capitalization stood at LE 2.254 trillion, while total transactions amounted to LE 181 billion.
The EGX 30 benchmark index, tracking the top-performing companies, declined by 1.25 percent to close at 30,617.83 points.
The EGX 70 EWI index, which highlights small and mid-cap enterprises, dropped 0.96 percent to 8,452.2 points, while the broader EGX 100 index fell by 1.05 percent, ending at 11,619.78 points.
Arab investors were net buyers with LE 44.51 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors ended as net sellers, with sales of LE 16.06 million and LE 28.45 million, respectively.
Top gainers during the session included Atlas for Investment and Food Industries, Mohandes Insurance, and Orascom Investment Holding, which rose by 10.48 percent, 9.33 percent, and 7.23 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the top losers were Kafr El Zayat Pesticides, Suez Canal Bank S.A.E, and Acrow Misr, which dropped by 8.40 percent, 7.64 percent, and 6.59 percent, respectively.
