According to a report by the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC), passenger car sales rose significantly by 18 percent, totaling 62.3 thousand units compared to 52.8 thousand in the corresponding period last year.
October alone recorded 9.6 thousand passenger cars sold, reflecting a 7.3 percent increase from 8.9 thousand units sold in October 2023.

Additionally, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) reported that Egypt’s car imports reached $1.692 billion in the first eight months of 2024, a substantial increase of $536.6 million compared to $1.155 billion in 2023. This rise highlights growing domestic demand for vehicles.
Despite the annual increase, monthly import data revealed variations. In August 2024, car imports dropped to $156.1 million from $217.6 million in August 2023, a decline of $61.5 million. Conversely, May 2024 saw notable growth, with imports climbing to $208.3 million compared to $180.9 million in May 2023, an increase of $27.4 million.
The data underscores a dynamic automotive market driven by rising demand but tempered by fluctuating import trends.
