EGX stays firmly in the green on Wednesday, pushed by foreign and Arab purchasing

Cairo – December 4, 2024: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) maintained its ongoing green streak on Wednesday, adding around LE 15.3 billion to the market cap.

Benchmark index EGX 30 was up by 0.67 percent to 30,832.61 points, followed by the Shariah index which climbed by 1 percent to reach 3,179.56 points.

EGX 70 increased by 0.44 percent to 8,497.54 points, with EGX 100 up by 0.57 percent to end the session with 11,669.20 points.

Wednesday trading saw 1.315 billion shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 8.921 billion.

Market capitalization was recorded at LE 2.2519 trillion, compared to yesterday’s close of LE 2.2366 trillion.

Trading on securities reported Egyptian investors as net sellers with LE 429.55 million. Foreign and Arab traders were net buyers with LE 272.23 million and LE 157.32 million, respectively.

The top gains of the session were by AJWA for Food Industries Company Egypt which surged by 15.12 percent, Orascom Development Egypt by 9.74 percent, and Lotus for Agricultural Investments and Development by 7.79 percent.

The largest losses of the session were by El Arabia for Land Reclamation which dropped by 9.5 percent, General Silos & Storage by 5 percent, and Golden Textiles & Clothes Wool by 3.92 percent.
