$19.95 million trade exchange between Egypt, Gabon

  CAIRO – 1 December 2024: Trade exchange between Egypt and Gabon reached approximately $19.95 million in the first nine months of 2024, down from $25.188 million during the same period in 2023, as reported by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
 
Key exports included stones and cement worth $8.1 million, essential oils and cosmetic products valued at $2.3 million, tanning and dye extracts at $1.2 million, and cereal preparations like pasta and crackers at $1.0 million. Total exports amounted to $19.3 million, a decline from $25 million in 2023.
 
Imports were dominated by wood and its derivatives, including charcoal, valued at $638,000, followed by electrical and mechanical machinery parts worth $5,000.
 
Overall, imports from Gabon rose to $650,000, compared to $188,000 in the same period of 2023.
 
Gabonese investments in Egypt also saw a sharp decline, reaching $100,000 in FY2022/2023, compared to $1.1 million in FY2021/2022.
