Cairo – November 28, 2024: Closing November 2024 on a high, the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended the week with a strong performance as benchmark index EGX 30 surged by 1.33 percent to hit 30,242.13 points, trailed by the Shariah index with a climb of 0.91 percent to reach 3,130.34 points.
EGX 70 was up by 0.34 percent to end the session with 8,275.86 points, while EGX 100 increased by 0.45 percent to close with 11,379.84 points.
Thursday trading saw 707.09 million shares exchanged over 80,135 trades, totaling a turnover of LE 2.516 billion.
Market capitalization was recorded at LE 2.212 trillion, closing the week with a loss of around LE 25 billion compared to the stock market’s start of LE 2.237 trillion on Sunday.
Trading on securities saw Egyptian and Arab investors as net sellers with LE 2.786 million and LE 8.629 million, respectively. Foreign investors were net buyers with LE 11.416 million.
The top gains of the session were by Ibnsina Pharma which climbed by 10.61 percent, El Nasr Clothes & Textiles (Kabo) by 8.84 percent, and Engineering Industries (ICON) by 7.44 percent.
The largest losses of the session were by Minapharm Pharmaceuticals which fell by 5.83 percent, Egyptian Iron & Steel by 4.99 percent, and Ismailia Development and Real Estate Co by 3.58 percent.
