CAIRO - 20 November 2024: Rania A. Al-Mashat, Egypt’s Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, met with Ms. Angelina Eichhorst, the newly appointed European Union (EU) Ambassador to Cairo, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations. Al-Mashat congratulated Ambassador Eichhorst on her appointment, emphasizing Egypt's commitment to enhancing its strategic partnership with the EU. Discussions focused on key areas of economic cooperation, building on the €7.4 billion Egyptian-EU partnership framework. This package supports sustainable development projects, economic stability, and investment incentives while addressing migration and human capital development.

The Minister underscored the EU’s role as a principal partner in Egypt’s economic and social development journey, contributing to vital initiatives aligned with Egypt’s Vision 2030 goals. Recent milestones in Egyptian-EU relations were highlighted, including the Egyptian-EU Association Council meeting, the European Commission President’s high-level visit, and the Egyptian-EU Investment Conference.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in trade, investment, and capacity building, setting the stage for deeper economic integration and mutual growth.
