CAIRO - 19 November 2024: The total value of remittances of Egyptian nationals working in the G20 group to Egypt amounted to about $11.1 billion during the fiscal year 2022/2023, compared to $14.3 billion during the fiscal year 2021/2022.
Data issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) indicate that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia came in first place on the list of the highest G20 group of countries in the value of Egyptian remittances during the fiscal year 2022/2023, as the value of remittances of its workers amounted to $8.3 billion.
The list of countries included the United States of America with a value of $1.6 billion, followed by remittances from the United Kingdom with a value of $560 million, then Germany with a value of $129.8 million, in addition to Canada with a value of $118 million, in addition to Italy with remittances worth $104.4 million, remittances from France worth $79 million, then Australia with a value of $54.6 million, remittances from Turkey worth $30.1 million, and finally China with about $19.5 million.
In contrast, the value of remittances from G20 workers in Egypt amounted to about $215.6 million during the fiscal year 2022/2023, compared to $237.9 million during the fiscal year 2021/2022.
The United Kingdom ranked first in the value of remittances from foreigners from the G20 countries in Egypt, as the value of remittances from workers from the United Kingdom in Egypt amounted to $54.9 million, followed by the United States of America with about $30.7 million, then the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a value of $26.1 million, India with a value of $23 million, then Germany with about $15.2 million, in addition to Canada with a value of $11.3 million, Turkey with a value of $10.7 million, France with about $9.7 million, then Australia with $9.2 million, then South Africa with $6.1 million.
